Arabiatta sauce
Ingredients
- 1 medium red capsicum
- 13 medium tomatoes
- 2 small onions or 1 large
- 1 big clove garlic
- Fresh basil - 1 bowl
- 2 Dried red chilli
- Salt
- Pepper
Prep
- Dice the capsicum and onions
- Mince the garlic
- Peel the tomatoes and chop into big (4-6) pieces. Remove the white part of the tomatoes.
- Wash the basil leaves
Directions
In a pan put some butter and olive oil and heat the pan. Once heated and butter starts melting, crush the two dried chilli and add it in. Let it cook for a minute or two.
Add to the pan, onion, capsicum and garlic. Once slightly cooked, add in the tomatoes, some salt and cover. Once the tomatoes are soft enough, start mashing them in. If needed, blitz in a blender. Lastly, add to the mixture some fresh ground pepper and basil leaves. Mix and remove from the stove.
